In all the countries of the world, there is a particular retirement age. It is a major issue whether elderly people of over 50 years of age should be retired and be replaced by the young. To my mind, it is today’s need that elderly people be replaced by young and capable ones.
To begin with, the determination of fixed retirement age is a controversial issue. Due to the uncertainty in this field, the youngsters who are far better than the elder ones in their interest, vision and scope in a particular job are denied a chance due to lack of vacancies as majority of the posts are crowded by the older ones. This present scenario needs to be changed. Today’s youngsters are far more hard-working, well-determined enthusiastic, vibrant and ready to take up the challenge of any field, which are considered good qualities of an employee. Such young employees can uplift the concerned areas to much greater heights.
It is an accepted fact that the ones who have keen vision can leave behind the experienced ones. To illustrate, the old ones may find introduction of new technology in the workplace difficult to adjust with while new young blood always accepts modernization. So, old ones can be a hindrance in the path of progress.
To recapitulate, in certain jobs like teaching, experience counts a lot though there are various fields which require the youngsters to be placed in. This will further reduce the global issue of unemployment, reduce frustration, suicidal acts, and criminal acts, thus bringing harmony to the nations.
