Mahindra XUV700 Review – Out on the road you quickly realise that the XUV700 is an old-school 4×4 and not one of the new breed of car-like SUV’s. It’s rough and it’s tough and it’s rugged and one side is absolutely fantastic if you’re looking for true SUV. You can just scramble over country fields and it’s not quite as much fun driving around town. It does feel really large and quite cumbersome at times.

Mahindra XUV 700 Detail Review

The engine range is quite simple as Mahindra will offer a 2.2-litre diesel engine option in India. This engine is mated with a six-speed manual and 7-speed automatic gearbox. It is made by Mercedes Benz and it comes as standard on the top of the range model. The engine is impressively quiet and gives the Mahindra XUV700 plenty of power. It will get selectable four-wheel drive system. In addition, low ratio mode and its chassis construction are really separated it from true SUV rivals now.

It is worth explaining the impact that the chassis construction has on it which is something that I would normally do. It is also worth talking about because most SUVs are built in a similar way too. A hatchback or a saloon giving them a car like feel to drive.

Pros and Cons of Mahindra XUV700 Review

The XUV700 is built the way a Land Rover Defender used to be or a pickup truck which is called body on frame construction. What we basically mean is that it feels taller and heavier than an SUV. It simply a different beast and that can take some getting used to it because it doesn’t feel as refined and certainly doesn’t feel that sporty. The new world of SUVs feels like cars.

The downside of old school construction means that fuel economy is not great with Mahindra XUV700. Another downside is that the XUV700 is not best around its competitor. On good roads to feels more refined. In addition, The big tyres get plenty of grips and you know there are not as much body roll as big SUVs of the same size have. The cars are almost 2 meters high and it also got a really fantastic turning circle.

Mahindra XUV700 rivals may be more enjoyable to drive but XUV700 is more than capable when selected to four-wheel drive. A low ratio setting means that this new version follows in the mud-plugging footsteps of its predecessors.

In conclusion, It is a big SUV with good interiors and high-end specs. Moreover, it is a big step forward by Mahindra to bring global SUV in India.

Hope Mahindra XUV700 Review will help you decide your future car. Stay tuned to get more info on upcoming cars in India 2018, 2019, 2020.
