In our highly industrialized era, there is growing awareness about the excessive amounts of trash people are producing. We are about to be flooded by different types of garbage if certain measures are not taken. This essay will explore some causes of this and propose ways to solve the problem.
The first and foremost reason for increasing garbage is the increasing consumerism. Firstly, manufacturers use packs of different sizes and colors as they think their products will be selling better if they are packed in beautiful boxes and packets. These colorful and attractive packs go straight into the trashcan.
In addition, more consumption leads to more waste. Government and businesses encourage consumption because it leads to higher profits and development of state economy. However, the downside is that buying new things means discarding the old things.
Notwithstanding anything, a combined effort of government and the public can reduce this problem by a considerable proportion. First, certain laws regulating the percentage of packaging should be established. Moreover, interesting programs like bonuses for not asking for a plastic bag is supermarkets or for buying the extra large pack of food can be introduced.
To sum up, everyone should become concerned about the future of human beings and our planet. If we do not wish to be buried in rubbish, we should think twice before buying things we not need.
