In the political history of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee name comes first in the great leaders. Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s name is not only consisted as a leader but also as a poet, writer, journalist and a person with a high character. Former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee is the only leader in the country who is also respectable in his party but also for the opposition party.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee was born on 25th December 1924 at Shinde Cantt in Madhya Pradesh. His father Pandit Krishna Bihari Vajpayee was a school teacher and Dada Pandit Shayam Lal Vajpayee was a renowned scholar of Sanskrit. His mother Mrs. Krishna Devi was a woman with religious rituals. They have three brothers and three sisters. Atal Ji has come in contact with RSS, at the age of eight years. He had decided that by leaving everything he would do everything for the country only.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji’s early education took place in Bhind and Gwalior and he graduated from Victoria College in Gwalior. Thereafter he passed the master’s degree in political science in the first class from D.A.V. College, Kanpur. After this, he took admission in the university to study of law.
In the ‘Quit India’ movement of 1942, Atal Ji also participated and stayed in jail for 24 days. He gained great popularity in the field of journalism. Atal Ji wrote many books. He is also a skilled speaker. Atal Ji entered politics from journalism.
In 1977-78, Atal Ji become the Foreign Minister in the Janata Party government. On April 6, 198,0 he gained the position of national president of B.J.P. On may 16, 1996, Atal Ji took oath as the country’s 10th Prime Minister. But this time he must resign due to fewer numbers. On 19th March 1998, Atal Ji was re-sworn in as the Prime Minister of the country. On 13th October 1999, Atal Ji took oath as the Prime Minister for the third time and remained on the post till 2004.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji was also honored with ‘Bharat Ratna’ in the year 2014 including Padam Vibhushan (1992), Best Parliamentary Award (1994), Lokmanya Tilak Award (1994), and Pandit Govind Vallabh Pant Award (1994).
As Prime Minister of India, Atal Ji has done many things of the progress of the country. In this way, he died on 16th August 2018 while serving the country. After his death, entire India was drowned in mourning
