Independence Day is celebrated every year on 15th August. Independence Day is a celebration of the whole nation. India celebrates Independence Day with enthusiasm and happiness because India become independent on August 15, 1947. This was the day when India was liberated from the British rule. This day is a very important day for all Indians because this day gives an opportunity to all Indians to remember those great freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives to give other a peaceful and beautiful life.

The work done by him can never be forgotten. India did not get independence because of one person. So many people had died for Indian independence and some of them have names of great freedom fighters: Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Mahatma Gandhi, Khudiram Bose, Chandrasekhar Azad, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Lala Lajpat Rai. India is independent become of all these difficult struggles.

There is a grand ceremony every year on August 15 in Delhi, in which the Prime Minister of India hoists the tricolor flag in the Red Fort of Delhi. The Prime Minister inspects the parade there and tells the people about the country’s advancement and future plans in the message of the nation. This entire program is broadcast live on radio and television.

Independence Day is a national holiday however everyone celebrated this from their own places by hosting the flag in school, office, and society. School children participate in these programs very enthusiastically. They fly colorful balloons and hoist the tricolor flag in their hands. On the day of Independence, people fly kites and balloons in the sky.

Independence Day celebrations are also held in various state capitals where the Chief Minister of the state hoists the flag of Tiranga. They also declare welfare programs for their people. District collectors flag hoist in district headquarters and give speeches. After flagging, people greet each other for Independence Day. Desserts, gifts, and fruits are distributed among children.
