5 – Hard work is the key to success

In a faraway village, lives a hardworking farmer who has grape fields. Year after year his drapery gives rich harvest and the farmer becomes very successful. He has three sons, who are young & energetic but never bother to work. As the farmer grows old, he begins to worry about his son’s future. Then he falls ill & realises his death is fast approaching He called his sons & told them, “Dear sons, I see my death near me, but before I bid goodbye to you I want to share a secret.”He told them, “There is a treasure hidden under the fields. Dig the entire field after my death, to find it.”The old farmer dies, & his sons performed the last rites. The sons begin to dig for the treasure without leaving any part of the field but found nothing. However, their digging of the field leads to the cultivation of healthy crops & results in huge earnings. These earnings make the sons realize what their father meant. Moral:Hardwork always pays off. A dream does not become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination & hardworking.

6 – Taking Responsibility

Two families lived nearby. One family was constantly fighting, while the other one lived quietly & friendly. One day, feeling jealous about how nicely the neighbouring family got along, the wife told her husband. “Go to the neighbours & look to see what they are doing for their well-being. The husband went, hid & began watching. He saw a woman who was cleaning the floor. Suddenly, something distracted her & she ran to the kitchen. At that time, her husband rushed into the room. Not noticing the bucket of water, he kicked it & spilled water all over the floor. His wife came back from the kitchen & said to him, “I am sorry honey! It’s my fault, I didn’t move the bucket out of the way. I am sorry, honey! Its all my fault, because I did not notice it. The man returned home and his wife asked him, if he found out what their secret is?The man replied, “I think the difference is that, we always seek to be right while they seek to take responsibility for their part”Moral – Having peaceful relationships means taking personal responsibility for our own part.

7 – Controlling Anger

Once there was a young boy who had problem controlling his temper. When he became angry, he would just say anything that came to his mind & hurt people. So, his father gave him a bag of nails & a hammer & said, “Every time you get angry, hammer one nail, into the fence in our backyard.”The first few days the boy hammered so many nails that he emptied half the bag. Over the weeks, the number of nails he hammered to the fence reduced & gradually, his temper was much in control. Then came a day, when he didn’t lose his temper at all. His father asked him to remove one nail each day that he managers not to lose his temper. Finally, on the day, the child was removing the last nail, his father says, “You have done well boy!!But do you see holes in the walls? The fence is never going to be the same, even after repainting. Likewise, when you say mean things in anger, you will leave a scar in the person’s mind, as the nails did to the fence.”Moral – Anger is a dangerous weapon like a knife. When you put knife in a man & draw it out, the wound heals, but the scar remains.

8 – Value Yourself

A speaker started his seminar by showing a $20 to the public. He asks the people “Who wants this?”There was no surprise to see that all of them raised their hands. He offered to give money to one of them but insisted that he will do something to it. He crumpled the paper money & showed it again to the crows & repeated the question. Still, everyone raised the hand. He then put the money into the ground & stepped on it & then raised it again & offered it to the public. The people gathered there, still showed interest to take that money despite seeing how dirty the note was. He told the public, “No matter what I did to this money, you all still wanted this. You all went in favour of my offer just because the value of the money never decreased despite what all I did to it. Similarly, value yourself despite the painful conditions or failures. Moral: Believe in yourself & work hard to achieve success. Value yourself irrespective of the failures or obstacles & don’t degrade yourself just because of the temporary setbacks.

Her boyfriend walked away in tears and wrote a short note to her saying: “Just take care of eyes, dear.”Moral of the story: When our circumstances change, so does our mind.

10 – Believe in Yourself story

What is she saying? You are not taking part in the competition? I don’t think I can make it. But you have been practicing for a whole month dear? And you play so well. I have never heard anyone play guitar as good as you do. You think so. I know so.Let me tell you a story of a boy JACK, who did what nobody thought he could do. Once there were two boys JACK and LUIS who lived in a village near Oldenburg.JACK was 6 years old while LUIS was 10. They were very close friends and spent most of their time together. One day, as an adventure they went a little too far away from the village. And while they were running around and exploring, LUIS fell into a well. He started screaming because he did’t know. How to swim and thought he would drown and die. JACK panicked and looked around for help. But there was no one to help them. They suddenly he saw a bucket tied to a rope lying near by. Without wasting any time, jack threw the bucket into the well and asked LUIS to hold it. The moment LUIS held the bucket, jack started pulling up the rope. He kept pulling and pulling till LUIS was out of the well. They were happy and cheering each other and ran quickly towards their home. When they told their families and the villagers about the event, nobody believes them. Because jack was too young and weak to even lift a bucket full of water. Hence, nobody believed that he could have pulled out LUIS from the well. But, only uncle Peter believed them.Uncle Peter was an old and experienced man whom the village took seriously, So they asked him how could this be possible?Uncle Peter laughed and said “what is there is explain? The boy is already telling you how he did it. He threw the bucket inside and pulled the rope to save his friends.  What is strange here is how did he manage to gather so much strength? This was because, at that time there was nobody to tell him, that he couldn’t do it!Even he himself was not in a position to think so!He added “The only one who can empower you is yourself”In fact you can do it, if you think you can do it! The villagers realised that how important it is to believe in yourself. Do you now believe you can, Yes! Yes! I can, Grandma.
