The government should provide free education for everyone essay
The expense of education is a much-debated issue. While some think that government should bear all the costs and provide free education to everyone, many world governments are forced to rely on much expensive private education due to lack of funds and infrastructure. In my opinion, education should be free but only for the economically backward sections of the society.
It is an accepted fact that in developing and underdeveloped countries, a major proportion of people remains uneducated. The main reason behind this situation is their poor financial condition. If education is provided at no cost, most of these people will make use of it. Moreover, providing free education has economic benefits too in the long term. For example, educated people will lead a healthy life, will have less communicable diseases and will take part in preventive measures against major diseases. Thus, educated people will help the government save a lot in the health budget.
To illustrate further, only the educated mass can think about new entrepreneurship and bring them into practice. To work in industries which are the backbone of any nation, educated people are a necessity. So, one can undoubtedly say that for economic growth too, free education is beneficial. However, providing education free of cost to all can make a hole in the pocket of the government. So, a better way would be to provide free education to the economically backward sections of the society and charging nominally from the rich ones.
From the above analysis, it is evident that for any nation, spending money on the education of people is never a loss of money. Instead, it will help the government build nation which is strong in economy, health, and morale.
