Jawaharlal Nehru was born on 14 November 1889 at Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. His father’s name was Pt. Moti Lal Nehru, who was a famous lawyer. His mother’s name was Swaruprani. He was brought up like a prince. After his early education at home by an English tutor, he was sent to England for higher studies. He took his degree in Law from England and returned to India as a barrister. He become a lawyer just like his father.

Jawaharlal Nehru involved in the India’s freedom movement with Mahatma Gandhi. During the freedom movement, he sent to jail several times. His entire life was the history of India’s fight for independence. He served Congress for many years as General Secretary. He was a great political leader and to achieve Independence he started Five Years plan and constructed multipurpose projects. Finally, after the independence of India in 1947, he becomes the first Prime Minister of India.

Jawaharlal Nehru was a great lover of children, who loved him greatly and called him Chacha Nehru, It is due to his great love for children and children’s love for him, his birth on 14 November is celebrated as ‘Children’s Day’ in our country every year. Many types of motivational activities are arranged by school and college students.

Jawaharlal Nehru was one of the greatest leaders of India and a lover of Indian culture. He was the founder of Panchashila, which is underlying faith in human goodness and moral values and Nehru’s answer to the doctrine of security pacts and arrangement. He wrote such famous books like “Autobiography”, “The Discovery of India” and “Glimpses of World History”.

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was born on 14 November 1889 in a Kashmir Brahmin family in Allahabad. He was the first Prime Minister of Independent India, whom we also know as Chacha Nehru. His birthday is celebrated as Children’s Day because of his great love and affection for the children of the nation. According to Jawaharlal Nehru, children are bright future of the country. He was well known that bright future of the country depends upon the bright future of the children.

His father’s name was Motilal Nehru and mother name was Swaruprani Thussu. His father was a well-known lawyer of Allahabad. So he sent Jawaharlal Nehru to England for higher education. Nehru Jl advocated there and in 1912 he returned to India and became a lawyer.

In India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru met Mahatma Gandhi. After meeting Mahatma Gandhi, He was very impressed with Gandhi Ji. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi fought a lot for the country’s Independence. While fighting India’s freedom, Jawaharlal Nehru jailed many times. Thus, Pandit Nehru Ji fought for India’s independence.

He got married to the Kamala Kaul (Kamala Nehru) in the year 1916 at the age of 27 and became the father of Indira Gandhi.

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was a great political leader and he was also a very friendly person. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru always used to inspire and motivate children to become patriots and happy citizens of the country and suggest to work hard and bravely, because he considered children as the future of the country.

Thus, on 27 May 1964, serving India, Nehru died to a heart attack. After his death, every year on November 14, his birthday is celebrated as a Children’s Day. Sacrifices of Chacha Nehru, encouraging youth, he will be always remembered for peaceful political achievements.
