Population explosion refers to an exponential increase in the population such that resources available are not enough to meet the needs of people. India is the second most populated country in the world and has a high population increasing rate. The reason behind the increase in population explosion is that the death rate has decreased.
Firstly, the basic reason behind this problem is early marriage. Poverty and low standard of living because people think there should be more hands to work. Due to lack of awareness regarding family planning lead to an increase in this problem. There is a lack of recreational facility due to poverty. Indian people are very superstition as they think children are a gift of God.
Secondly, it leads to low per capita income because there is an increase in an unemployment. Due to the huge burden on Indian government cannot support everyone and give education or skill. Other than this food is a big problem, as India need to import food from other countries and people are facing problems like malnutrition. Every day pressure on environment and land is increasing. All these things will lead to a low standard of living.
Thirdly, the government of India added some plans to manage population explosion. Government is planning family planning services under the name called ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activists). In addition to this government has given accreditation to the certain private hospital as well as NGOs to work with them for family planning services. All these things are happening under PPP (Public Private Partnership mode). It is improving contraceptive supply management, especially in rural and tribal areas. Creating awareness by advertisement on radio, television, posters and social media platform.
The government can increase the number of participants in the self-help group in every village. Employment generation will lead to educating people which ultimately sending them in school rather than work. And if the literacy rate will increase people will know the benefits of family planning.
In conclusion, the government is trying to provide awareness among people but not as per the increase in population rate. Now government need to work faster to control population explosion otherwise Indian economy will struggle in the coming years.
