Zoo is a place where birds and animals of different kinds and colours are kept. A visit to the zoo is always very interesting. We decided to visit to National Zoological Park Zoo, Delhi. It is one of the largest Zoos in the country. It is a beautiful and natural place consisting of many kinds of trees and animals. So, I visited the zoo with many parents. We reached there at 2:00 p.m. The entry was by tickets. We went up to purchase the tickets and then we entered the zoo.
First of all, we went to the cages of monkeys and baboons. We threw some grains to them. The monkeys were jumping on the branches of the trees. Then we went to see the birds. We saw water birds, ducks and cranes in a pond. Then we saw a tank full of all kind of colourful fishes. They were leaping about and swimming beautifully in the clear water. The owls sat with closed eyes lost in thoughts.
We visited the tiger, lions and bears shut in cages. We heard the loud roar of a lion. One tiger was in a fit of anger. The tiger was strong and handsome. In another cage, a lion was sleeping and the lioness was playing with cubs. Some birds were singing, chirping and whistling. I was very delighted to see my favourite animals, which include tigers, lions, leopard and cheetah. There were also many elephants, giraffe, rhinoceros, hippopotamus and crocodiles in the zoo. There were many crocodiles on the land, somewhere dozing, some were taking rest under the tree.
We spent nearly four hours at the zoo. The visit added vastly to my knowledge. I felt that I had visited a new world. It was quite a rewarding experience to visit a zoo. After seeing the zoo, we felt tired and hungry. We sat under a tree and ate our tiffin. After sometimes, we returned to our home. I saw some animals for the first time, which I had seen earlier only in pictures. My visit of the zoo was great fun. It was also very educative and informative. A zoo helps us to learn so much without visiting the natural habitats of animals and birds.
